A SILK FLORAL EMBROIDERED DRESS BODICE/CARACO 1760–1780

A beautifully designed English cream silk bodice with floral sprigs, showing the understated style of silk of the period.

Front fastening, and an attractive pleated back skirt.

The trim round the arms and the pleated back was obviously added – this would not have been original. However, it is 18th century, and could easily be removed if required. The whole bodice is lined with linen.

Condition: Excellent except for one very pale mark on the shoulder. Strong silk. The slightest of wear to linen lining.

Measurements: shoulder seam to shoulder seam 12 ½”. Total length 18” (32cm. Length 47cm)
