A VERY RARE SEWING SAMPLE CONSISTING OF A MINIATURE CHRISTENING GOWN AND PETTICOAT - ca. 1830

This is a rare two piece sewing sample, and was not made necessarily for a doll. Children would have been set the task of showing their sewing skills, much the same as children created samplers.

The tiny stitches and the pretty details are quite amazing, especially the van dyke border on the dress. Even the original minute buttons are still attached at the back.

This is a true collectors' item, and as such a rarity, especially in such amazing condition. There is just one small "nick" at the base of the petticoat.

Measurements: Dress
length 24 1/2", waist across 4 1/2". The petticoat is a little shorter.

Price: USD $380.-
