STUNNING BLUE SILK FLORAL SHAWL WITH FRINGE. SPITALFIELDS OR MACCLESFIELDS 1830s.

This is a truly spectacular pure silk square shawl, made in England at either the Spitalfields or Macclesfield's manufacturers. It dates to the 1830s.

The design is breathtaking in it's glorious floral design with fresh and beautiful colours. This must have surely been an evening shawl. There is a knotted fringe all round, the condition is excellent and it drapes beautifully.

Measurements: 56" square excluding fringe.
