SPLENDID SKIRT PANEL OF CREAM FLORAL SPITALFIELDS SILK – ENGLISH 1755

This floral silk from the Spitalfields factory in London was made for the wedding dress of a Mary Bristowe of Twyford, England. Sadly, I was only able to purchase this one skirt length. Spitalfields silk is getting very difficult to find.

It is of superb quality, colouring and weaving, and is very similar to the designs of Anna Maria Garthwaite – it may even be one of her designs.

Measurements: 44” x 20” (112cm x 51cm) Selvedge both sides.

Condition: Excellent – there is a join 13” up from the bottom, but this is very well matched.

Price: USD $980.- (I now have a second piece of this silk – same details and price. The cream background of both pieces is a much deeper and richer cream than shown on the images)

Further information, detailed description and condition reports can be supplied on any piece of interest. Just contact me.
