BEAUTIFUL LATE 18TH CENTURY FLORAL FRENCH QUILT

This is a pretty French quilt dating from 1780 - 1790
The front is made up of two different, but similar dainty cottons, and the back is lined with coarse cream linen.
It has batting, and diagonal quilting. The background is cream with flowers, blackberries and meanders in red, pink and purple/blue.

Condition: This quilt appears to be in good condition, until one looks much closer. It has, in fact, small pieces of damage all over on the blue/purple flowers and berries. This is obviously due to this particular color which has shattered the cotton. This said, the quilt would be fine for minimal use, or exhibiting, or simply as a decorative item. It is very clean, with no marks, and ironically the coarse linen back is in very good condition. A wonderfully decorative quilt, if one can live with the damage.

Measurements: 74" x 109"

Price:
USD $400.- (this price reflects the damage)
