A BEAUTIFUL AND UNUSUAL PALE BLUE AND WHITE VICHY GATHERED PELMET WITH RED TRIM. FRENCH ca.1790-1800

This is a most attractive gathered pelmet in a slightly faded blue and white vichy cotton, with a pretty pale red trim. It dates to the end of the 1700s.

It is of fine cotton, and is unlined. It has the original little brass rings along the top.

The condition is generally good, but there is a problem with three holes. Two are about 2 1/2" and another smaller. These do get lost in the folds, but they are there. It was most likely stored in an attic for many years, although it has been washed and is clean.

I will include a small fragment of similar vichy cotton for repairs if they wish to be done. But it could be left as is, depending on what it will be used for.

Measurements: 79" (top gathered edge) x 22" approximately.

Price: SOLD
