FIVE BEAUTIFUL PIECES OF TOILE DE BOLBEC FRENCH 1790-1822

This beautiful toile is in five pieces of different sizes.

The design is of two different medallions depicting rural life. The engraving is superb. The medallions are set in a floral back ground in the colours of madder red and yellow.

This fabric was produced in Normandy, Northern France during the late 18th and early 19th century in Lillebonne Bolbec at the factory of "Pieters" (this name is marked on the farm scene). Alternatively, "Pieters" may have been the engraver. It is not sure.

These five pieces are in very good condition, with only the occasional pinhole and antique repair. Some are backed in very fine linen/cotton.

The measurements are:

30" x 19"
15" x 17"
15" x 15"
16" 20"
16" x 19"

I am selling them as a Lot, but they could also be sold singly.

Price: SOLD
